For the first time Brussels hosts two unique events representing art, films and music from Riga, the capital of Latvia. Friday, 5 September the opening of Latvian contemporary art exhibition Fluid States takes place at M’ATUVU Creative Shopwindow. Saturday, 6 September it will be followed by Riga Night Brussels — a party with the finest Latvian electronic dance music and a film programme at Bellevue Creative brewery.

FLUID STATE
Fluids from Latvian new wave artists: cutting-edge videos and installations.

It presents artworks by three young, but already critically acclaimed artists:
Maija Kurševa, Voldemārs Johansons and Linards Kulless.
In their own different ways they depict ever-changing, dynamic and non-static nature of fluids and liquids.

RIGA NIGHT PARTY
Amazing stories and characters on the silver screen: a selection of films, short films and animations.
Before the party takes off there will be a screening of selected short, animation and documentary films giving an insight into the current state of Latvian cinematography.

Locomotion for party animals:
the finest electronic dance music and visuals from Riga

RIGA NIGHT BRUSSELS offers a chance to experience the party vibe of the Latvian capital recreated by specially invited music producers, DJs and VJs. A live performance by a diverse and talented musician Martinez Gonzalez will be accompanied by DJ sets from Heincha, ZeDmitry and Ivars Mednis who all are well known figures in Riga’s electronic music scene. Music will be animated by expressive visual sequences from VJs Linards Kulless and Ginta Tinte.
